We have had a great time exploring different books, some old, some new this year.  We have talked about imagination and what to do with an idea. We have talked about rhymes and themes.  We have even talked about schemes (Shhh).

Now we are 'gettin' groovy' with Groovy Joe, a new character by the co-creator of Pete the Cat.

Today at Uniacke District School LIBRARY

we enjoyed reading together:
‘Groovy Joe: Dinosaurs and Ice Cream’
by Eric Litwin.

This Week at the Library

One more week has gone by in April and it is raining great books at the Uniacke District School Library.  Last week we featured 'The Knight Who Took All Day'
a playful reading of a young knight who took all day to get dressed and ready to battle a dragon and win the princess' favour but finds out that the princess is not all that impressed with his approach.

A read-alike book for this title would be Robert Munsch's 'Paper Bag Princess'

The library also has a few Nonfiction books to help explore the world of real knights, click the links below to find out more.

Kids draw knights, kings, queens & dragons
by Hart, Christopher, 1957-
In the time of knights : the real-life story of history's greatest knight
by Tanaka, Shelley.
Knight's castle
by Eager, Edward.
